Title: What's Seasonal Now
Post by: gyr on October 19, 2008, 19:35:37 PM
I'm coming over later this week - first time 'out of season and owning' - love cooking and I wondered what was in season now. Any suggestions for recipes including seasonal fruit & veg.

Hamsi or anchovies are in season and really cheap. Lovely deep fried although not too good for the waistline if you eat too many!

Oranges and satsumas, don't be put off by them being more green than orange, they're great.

one trip round the market and you certainly wont starve!
aubergines
cauliflour
broccolli
celeriac
all salad veggies,
mushrooms
peppers
potatoes
onions
beetroot
olives
avocado
pomegranate
orange
lemon
bananas
grapes
kiwi
sharon fruit
nectarines
walnuts
hazelnuts
dates
etc etc
all fresh and compared to the uk mind numbingly cheap!!!
