I bought some lovely sporty shorts there in XL, but really they are a size 16. Size 16 is XXL. 9.99 lira.

DeFacto - New Clothes Shop

I noticed yesterday there's another new shop opening opposite the DeFacto shop and opposite the fish market - a few weeks ago it was a restaurant that did a cheap 3 course lunch, if that helps.  The shop name was up (can't remember what it was) but they were still fitting out the inside.  Can't wait to go check it out when it opens up.  There are some really good clothese shops now in Fethiye, and they're starting to wake up to the fact that not every woman is a stick insect!

As a PS to that, I've also noticed that quite a few shops are starting to sell sandals in bigger sizes too - maybe they'll extend their range to shoes and boots in the winter, then I WOULD be happy!

I would add that whatever the size of the womens clothes, in the past, most of the shops seem to sell clothes that were stuck in te 1980's.  I never saw much I liked.  I always enjoy shopping (which may be a surprise to some people) but in Fethiye I stopped looking in the clothes shops.  It's great to see a new shop with modern wearable and reasonably priced items.  I hope now Defacto have opened it will start a trend for some good women's clothes shops.   I always  thought it was a shame that a big shop like Ramadan had so little items of clothing I liked I gave up on them two years ago.
The only clothes shop I have used is Saman who have some really lovely unique items not found anywhere else, what I like about their trousers and long skirts is they have them in shorter lengths.

We also have LC Wakiki, now in my eyes that's when modern clothes in all sizes at great prices arrived in Fethiye and I could stop having to go back to UK to find good clothes.
Been in DeFacto and it seems very similar in styles and prices but not as much selection IMO.
All shops like this are great news for Fethiye hence why they are always busy...the till tells the story..

I haven't been so impressed with DeFacto this summer as much of their new stock is synthetic and I like cotton which is cool and allows the skin to breathe; important in this hot and sweaty climate.

I have only managed to find 2 new cotton dresses and one top so far.

However I have discovered Afrodite which isn't a new shop (except to me) but I have spent a small fortune in there and they regularly get new stock and numbers of items are limited and not reordered so you are far less likely to see someone else wearing your new dress.

It can be found in the pedestrianized area that you can see facing you by standing with your back to the front entrance to Domino's Pizza. It's on the right about one hundred metres along, just before the back entrance to LC Wakiki.

It is one of those rare shops that has ranges of clothes suitable for most ages too. The staff do speak some English and are very pleasant.

Bought a few things in Afrodit and as you say Nichola their clothes are a bit different and they don't have multiples of everything.  Another shop I like is Rana - a couple of doors away from Afrodit - they sell natural gems amethyst etc but also have a range of clothing made in Turkey.  Nice designs and a lot of natural materials, a bit pricey but nice, again you don't meet loads of people in the same outfit.

No, I did not see anything in Defacto this time.  Think Karma is worth a look as they are a designer Outlet.  Had a few "bargain" buyers in there and their Mango stuff is really cheap.

Last year I bought a pair of nice Mango linen trousers in Karma Jacqui after your recommendation, they are a little bit see through and I did wonder if I would ever wear them but I bought a really nice top in Afrodite (also a little bit see through) that goes with them perfectly.

I haven't tried Rana Marggie but I will have a look. There is a sort of hippy shop along there too. Clothes look nice and colourful but a lot of the dress styles look like like rags on me  :'(
