SGK Pensioner Option
« on: November 30, 2017, 18:31:42 PM »
Hi Everyone,
I vaguely recall somebody mentioning that there was an option with the SGK scheme for people aged 65+. No other info was available. Can anyone confirm that such an option exists, as I would seriously consider taking it if it does. I have checked DocMartins site and can't find any reference to pensioner options. TIA.

There is no "other option", other than the fact, that it is not compulsory to have SGK for your residency, if you are 65.  Of course you can still have it, but no reduction in cost because, you are over 65yrs. The other alternative is private medical insurance.

And once the younger of you reaches UK state pension age you both have to buy individual SGK cover.
