Hi Theresa,
I've just come back from a trip to furnish our villa and got most of the stuff very cheaply at Erun Spot. He does take cash, even sterling and gave us a good exchange rate. AS our place is not ready yet he's going to keep it for 10 days and deliver it all then for us. Bahir is a lovely bloke, very helpful and not at all pushy. You won't go wrong at the Erun Spot.

Eren spot owner is Bekir, speaks goodd english and his prices are the cheapest in Fethiye. If you have any problems finding him I will take you there, just call in at Maria's English restaurant and ask for Janet.

Thanks for the offer and I probably will see you in May. I think I saw the Spot Shop in January and I think there will be a rut in the road from all the Calis feet that have trodden the path. :)

Sue and I got most of the things we needed from Bekir. We also wanted an oval cane dining table and chairs which he did not keep but he took us to someone who did and arranged for every thing to be done - even to getting material for the seat cushions to match the sofa.
Bekir is very helpful and extremely straight.You cant go wrong dealing with him.

Yes, we visited the spot shop and got quite a lot of shopping there.
Delivery we asked, oh ah well i not quite sure, tomorrow yes, possible.
Having a coffee in the office of Orange rent a cars about twenty minutes later, mobile rang. Spot shop, are you home we are delivering your furniture quick jump in the taxi to arrive the same time as the delivery.

Our furniture is going to be delievered tomorrow before flies home in the evening. Have heard from many that he is very reliable.

Bekir who runs the spot shop has asked me to clarify about his Guarantees, he has had people saying that you should buy from Migros or Gima etc because they honour the manufacturers guarantee. Bekir would like to point out that he deals directly with the manufactures and he offers the same guarantee as you would get elsewhere.
From a personal point of view, he not only does what he says but goes even further, we bought a safe last year, we buggered it up by putting one of the keys in the lock upside down, he swapped it and delivered a new one, we managed to break that one in he same way, he delivered a third with no questions asked and never an indication that we would need to pay more money.

Bekir was great with our delivery, we were the ones messing him around really. Because our house was empty we didn't want to sit around all day waiting so he telephoned us when they were delivering so that we could get a cab to the house and meet them.

Can someone be so kind as to tell me what he sells other than furniture.
Every one seems so taken with Bekir and the shop I'd love to visit even although I've bought a furnished apartment.
Can I get odds and ends there? like cutlery, crockery, mirrors etc.

It's furniture, electrical, garden equipment and white goods at the spot shop, the shop next door sell all the cutlery and other things.
When you buy cuttlery, just notice how hard Knives are to find, I have no idea why this is, you will notice lots of spoons, forks and tea spoons, but not Knives ???

Someone else mentioned this a long while ago so I took a cutlery set from home.

So George, you are not going to break your safe again are you? Paint an arrow on the key to tell you which way to put it in or get a combination lock. But then that will need to go back if you forget the code... !!!

I am going to do better than that, the safe has two keys, one normal looking key and this other big double sided thing, this is the one that caused all the trouble! especially when you try and put it in upside down !!
I am going to put this key in the safe and then hacksaw the head off so we only need to use the small key. The problem is that I must remember to leave it in the open position before I take the hacksaw to it !

No problem Anne, I put the set in my suitcase so it went in the hold. They were only general cutlery I didn't take any steak knives or carving knives - saw those for sale in a few places.
I took a complete set of knives forks and spoons. Tui say on their web site nothing with a blade longer than 3", these were a bit longer but rounded at the end so I don't think they would have been a major issue as they were stashed away.

I took a big carving knife and bread knife in early may and phoned security at M/cr aiport first, they said as long as it went in the hold there was no problem, and there wasn't. this time I'm taking cutlery so hope same applies

I took two boxes of cutlery in my suitcase, no problem at all. Obviously if you had carving knives in your handbag they would have a thing or two to say about it lol

Can you tell me how much your safe cost from Spot Shop.
We ar looking to purchase one in June when we go over. Is it a small safe like the ones they have in hotels, etc?

never keep your second keys in the safe.if you lose one key its wery diffocult to open the safe and it will be expensive. thanks.

The reason knives are difficult to get hold of or to buy cheaply in Turkey is because they don't generally use them for eating, therefore they can be hard to find and more expensive than uk. Best bet is to take your own. When we furnished our place, there was no problems with most things, we bought from Erun Spot very reasonable. bits and bobs were bought from the million shop, but knives and bedding, we brought from home!

Hi Bekir, thanks for your excellent service again while we were out there last week. We wanted an air conditioning unit fit in our house, we saw Bekir at 4.00pm, it was fitted and working by 6.00pm same day.
What a service!!

while we were there last week we wanted a washing machine, but didnt want to wait in for it to be delivered,bought and paid for the washer and said we had shopping to do and a few messages bekir didnt know if he could deliver that day or not.
We arrived home about 2 hrs later to find the washer delivered
Try getting that from Comet or Currys

Don't worry this is only small fry compared to party week when it was like a swarm of locusts. I kid you not - we were walking along the street when a couple (probably one of you lot) walked past us and I overheard "we'll go to the spot shop".
Mick and I put on our best Benny Hill speed walk and passed them to get there first. I should add we had been to the shop about 3 times and it was always full of customers. Hoping for a quieter time this trip. At least I can sit while Vera shops on the Tuesday - I hope to get all mine on Saturday.

Hi all. We returned from Calis last Monday while there we had aircon fitted to two of the bedrooms, our first port of call was Migros there the prices where not bad, but where told that it would be at least a week before we could have them fitted. So we called in at Spot Shop paid for them at 1630. £360 for two 9000Btu`s, they where fitted & working by 2130 that same day. Great Service thanks Bakir.

We met Bekir for the first time last Tuesday. Poor guy was run off his feet.
Still he recognised me and even remembered Angie's name.... something I have difficulty with lol.
Delivered our stuff on Thursday. His driver even carried our fridge upstairs to the apartment on his back and set it up for us.
Great service with a friendly smile.
