Dripping Solar Panel
« on: September 16, 2014, 10:19:39 AM »
Hi - we can see a small run of water running down the roof tiles from our neighbours solar panel - she is out today - is this likely to be a new panel and any recommendations?

Probably a perished or loose connection.

So not necessarily a new panel - that will please her for the time being - thank you :-)

Perhaps not in this case but the usual cause of leaks on Solar systems is the ball valve in the small header tank.

I have to replace mine every year as the valves are poor quality and I havn't found any in the UK that would fit in the tank.

When it leaks it sometimes runs down the panels, sometimes down the tiles and sometimes down the ironwork.

Regarding the leak I would get it sorted before any possible frost/freezing weather conditions.     :)

Yep Bayram does plumbing as well as electrics and if it's a job he can't do then he knows a brother or a man who can.
