In who Des - Wenger? :D
-
I think Wenger is a good Manager, he has lasted a lot longer than a lot of others.
However, back to the thread.
Great game today and Liverpool played Chelsea off the field. Pity The Special one could not be a man and admit his team where beaten by a better team on the day.

Indeed so Jacqui
Mourinho should be made to watch Stephen Moore's post match (within minutes of the final whistle) interview.
A man who had given his all, had lost but was still gracious enough to admit that the better team won and refused to blame the loss of key players as an excuse. Very impressive.

Klopp out

I am warming to Klopp, he seems to be a genuinely nice guy.

....and he speaks well of you! ;D

Another Summer (well winter really) another Swallow, and another messiah manager for Liverpool.... he'll probably last as long as the last ones - including King Kenny round 2 - before he is on his way. After all Klopp was found out in the Bundesliga and he'll be quickly found out in the Prem too.. nice guy or not.
Wenger Out ... whilst delighted with how the club is performing in the Prem at the moment. We won't win it or fore-swoon push on in the Champions League, and these are the reasons why .... too many games dropped with poor performances, two disaster euro ties (and consequently danger of Spursday Football in the Europa), and here we are again with injuries to key, and non key players, exposing the weakness again of Wenger's squad through retaining players who should have been shipped out, an acedemy that is failing to produce any players for the Arsenal team/squad, and not forgetting of course the absence of new outfield signings that are required to replace those outted players and of course to strengthen the first choice team and also cover. All these things will probably explain to a greater or lesser extent how we failed to win or push on in the big trophies, and they all sit at the door of AW (another nice guy BTW).
And no Des, blind faith in any manager, let alone Wenger, is not enough! Especially a manager who keeps making the same mistakes over and over again, year after year and never learns from them. ;)

Reading your post USB you don't like clubs who change their Managers too often. On the other hand you want to get rid of your Manager who has been with you for 10 years... Make your mind up.
-
I do not believe a manager's competency for the job - both in football and other industries - should simply be made on the basis of longevity, as you seem to be implying. It should be on the basis of results achieved from resources made available to them. And when you look at both the recent Liverpool managers (Rogers, King Kenny et al.) results and Wenger's results at Arsenal, none have performed at an optimum level, given the resources available, or in Liverpool's case expended.
Just as a little suggestionette , but it is always helpful when making a case for something to also get your facts right. Wenger has been at Arsenal for almost 20 years. : :)
