Best attacking performance in many a year. Defence a bit shaky but that can be worked on.

A great win with a wonderful goal from Vardy - I was really happy for him.

But you have been here before (yes I know we haven't been) so lets wait and see what happens when it matters.

Great performance across most of the team, but as Scunner observes the defence is still not quite there for a big tournament, especially Smalling!  Does Rooney get back in the squad, let alone the team on the basis of the number of striking options Hodgson now has that are clearly in front of Rooney?

That Dele Alli looks like he is going to be some player for England and only 19 years of age.

Rooney in last night's team would have totally messed up all that quality pass and move attacking. Time to stop picking a team to accommodate Rooney - time probably to stop picking Rooney full stop.

Rooney's early years in football were worth talking about, then the money and fame went to his head and he became average,

and the last few years he has been overrated in my opinion. Some exciting young players out there now.

A good morale boosting win yes..... but thats all...it was still a `meaning less friendly`....risking injuries  etc,  (  Butland the number 2 keeper  now  out ) but never underestimate the Germans in football or for that matter anything.     just wait til the tournament starts that`s the real tests... and yes `we have been here before` and yes  I  believe there`s potentially a good looking squad  this year, but although I  am a pessimist by nature... after 1966 etc.. people were saying "  we are not going to win another major trophy in my lifetime...  and after 50 years on....  sadly I  have to go along with that statement   :( :(       i wager  the `usual suspects`  will reach the semi finals....    and us only making the last  8      ....  any takers out there ???
