This is the result of a trip to the top of Babadag Mountain.
« on: December 12, 2014, 18:53:38 PM »
Yesterday we fancied a trip up to the top of  Babadag Mountain to see the new runways.
Well worth the trip up there the view was amazing.
It was actually freezing up there.
Never thought you would be able to see Calis so well from up there either.
Got to go back again in the summer when its even clearer.

Lovely photos.  Going back in the summer is lovely too, but you get a lot of heat haze and so not so good for the photos.

Hiya if your coming through Ovacik there's a large fork in the road before you get to Hisaronu proper. Take the left fork and you will see a sign for Babadag restaurant or something or activity centre of something , anyway I saw it and thought ahhhh Babadag so went for it. Lol
Anyway go down the left fork until you come to a big cross roads, less than a mile then turn left again.
There is a sign there that says 15kms to Babadag and you just follow it all the way up.
It starts off block paved then onto unmade for now road a little rutted but Keep going , then it turns into block paving again and the road twists and turns like a switchback all the way to the top.
You'll come across a turning to the right to three other levels of runway but if you want to go to the top bare left and keep going and you will eventually make it to the very top  and the new runway.
Once you get there make sure you turn right into the car park unless you will go straight onto the runway and it's very very steep and you would have trouble stopping and drop off the end ha ha
Once you're there you'll know what I mean.
It takes a good long while to get up there but as you can see it's well worth the effort.
Enjoy.
