As we had such good reports of the fillet steaks at Dawn Beach we gave it a try.   Have to say the steaks were very good but unfortunately we went on a Friday night and just as we got our meal (we tend to eat late) some sort of rugby match came on and the sound was coming out of all the speakers and was deafening.  Needless to say we ate up quickly and left.   Shame - we just picked the wrong night to try Dawn beach.   Not sure there is any need to have such loud commentary on a rugby match in a restaurant - it would certainly put us off going again - but I guess we would have to check before hand to see if any rugby/football matches are on in future.

Read a report on T.A. that the guy (who comes to Calis every year but writes depressing reports about it) would not eat at the Dawn Beach because of the awful drain smell there.
We have been during the day and had lunch, but cannot remember the drains???  Maybe it's a night thing??

Sorry your night was spoiled, but I have to say that matches normally only kick off at 10 pm and by that time most people have eaten. Being an ardent fan of the most exciting game in the world, us rugby fans love going in Dawn Beach to watch the games and the only reason the volume is turned up is to deafen out the racket from the bar across the road.  ;D ;D

Have to agree there chris35 - we are big rugby (league!) fans and always go to dawn beach to watch the matches when we're in Calis.  There's usually a great atmosphere, good food and service.  Think a lot of people go there for the sport that's shown, probably one of the best places in Calis.     :)

Yes we watched all of the Lions Tour there in May and June. Great atmosphere and fabulous late breakfasts!   :)  :)

Hi Mate completely agree best game in the world and probably the best place to watch it always a good rugby crowd in when matches are on. Can't wait for next season when we can sit have a beer discuss what's wrong with the world and how we just want to retire and spend more time in our little place in the sun.
The pie eaters did well again never mind our day will come as Doris said. Can't wait for next season so we can do it all again. CUM ON U ULL 8) 8) 8) 8)
