Hi, we will be staying at the Celay hotel B and B, does anyone have a favourite restaurant in Ovacik or Hisaronu. Hoping we will be able to have a trip to Calis during our stay. Thanks.

Aubergine restaurant does a very nice lamb shank.
-
We would recommend the Yengec, good food in a nice location. 8)
-
If you like Indian food The Shine in Hisaronu is the best in the Indian in the area.
-
Thanks everyone, hopefully a visit to Paradise beach bar too Nichola

Aw thanks suzyq - remember we do free return transfers mornings and late afternoons and you can book via our page 8) you'll be very welcome and it has been really nice how many people have made the trip over from Calis to see us, even though I haven't always been there - so thanks, you know who you are ;)

Definitely Yengec, normally you have to book in advance - number available on their Facebook Page and also I believe decide what you want from that night's (as in the night you are going) menu in advance.
Shine too, my favourite Indian anywhere locally.
Also Yakamoz. They are a bit off the main road before the new Jandarma station as you enter Ovacik and not sure if they do transfers but they have a nice menu.

The Yakamoz gets a big thumbs up from me.
Lovely setting and ambience. Great grub. The menu is a clever blend of Turkish and international. Many of the ingredients are grown in their own little market garden.
Well worth tracking it down ( It's by the newest water park - follow the sign from the main road).
Mehmet certainly used to offer a transfer service and I am sure this will still be the case. Phone ahead to arrange everything.
An unusual feature - which you will either love or hate - is that the restaurant areas are all non-smoking, Smoking is only allowed by the bar.
I have been saying for a long time that you very rarely get a bad meal in Turkey, but stunning meals are just as rare. All the meals I have ever had at the Yakamoz made it onto my stunning list.

I would agree with all of the above but I would also try Palazzo il Rifugio.Beautiful setting fantastic hosts and the food is wonderful. I believe they also pick you up and drop you off at the end of the night you won't be disappointed.

We also have in Ovacık two new Village Breakfast venues
Narlıbahçe -Pomegranate Garden Cafe & Bar - better for chilling because they have the Turkish seating corners
Nefes Breakfast Restorant
Both can be found on Google Maps and Facebook and both recommended but generally avoid weekends if you prefer a bit more relaxed and laid back.

I just have to find all these places now 😂

Back home unfortunately, we only managed to eat at one of the recommendations which was Aubergine and it was very good. The WiFi was awful and did slightly affect our plans as didn’t have a clue where anything was, we ate at My Way in Hisaronu which was also excellent and Lemon Tree which was okay. I managed to get my Oben fix and met his lovely new wife, food as brilliant as ever and also had a lovely meal at Merhaba. The setting of the Celay is beautiful but think I prefer being nearer to shops etc, we still managed to walk into Hisaronu most days though and got a taxi back. Will put some photos on of visit.

If anyone is still looking for restaurants in Ovacik, I can recommend the Candlelight restaurant. We have eaten there on many occasions and it's always excellent.

we were on holiday in ovacik august/september of this year,we were on an all inclusive holiday, but like to eat out some nights,we tried the candlelight restaurant twice it was superb, also aubergines which was also superb, but i have to say i think places in this area were struggling due to the exchange rates, and being out of the tourist areas, its a shame because food and service at these establishments were sublime, cost for a meal at the candlelight was for 1 starter,2mains,2pints of keo lager, came to 111 lira just under £14 POUNDS at that time the exchange rate was was just over 8 lira to the pound.
