Ripped the useless roof off our woodstore and found these coats that some squatters had left on top of the woodpile :o

Good job it was only the skins you found then !!

Never seen a snake thank goodness, but we did see a large hedgehog running along the wall at our Villa. It was moving pretty quickly. Never seen one before in Turkey. I wonder how common they are?
-
Maybe too common for you Jacqui
-
Ooh I say.....
-
First for me, never seen one in Scotland either. I will call it Sir Hedgehog if I see it again, then it will not be common.

Plenty of hedgehogs up here in Üzümlü much to the amusement of one of our dogs, who tries to pluck them, 2 in our garden in the last week.
Loads of tortoises, again to the joy of the dogs, 2 of which seem to think tortoises are like the Fray Bentos steak & kidney pies in a tin, they will often spend ages trying to hide from me whilst trying to break the shells open.
The joy of living in a rural community! 8)

Love to see the tortoises, we have some around us in Calis, but we are at the back of Calis in a more rural area too. It is the big centipedes I hate, they give me the creeps.

Must admit I'm not being quite so adventurous in my off-roading with the dogs at the moment as I've seen a few snakes slithering around lately.....
Oh, and I found one of these critters in my lounge the other night....just glad it didn't sting any of the animals while I was out!
-
I wouldn't worry about snakes. They're far more frightened of you and the dogs and will almost always try to make a quick getaway.
Tortoises are probably more of a health hazard because most are infested with ticks that are always looking for fresh blood, and the tortoises also carry a strong strain of salmonella.

Ha, my dogs aren't that bright, KKOB - one of them keeps trying to chase them....
