Koca Calis update
« on: July 19, 2009, 08:24:08 AM »
The old pension type place next to the Garden Beach Restaurant (Tekins) has been acquired and major building work going on with mini lakes, no entry boards up, big extensions to the former building, sand on the beach pebbles again  (will they evere learn LOL)  Wedding party area and what looks like a beach bar being built, all in season as usual. Hell of a mess at present.
Garden Beach Restaurant in renovation still going on...slowly. New signs at road side now.
Aygol Hotel, scene yesteday....mattressses, sunbeds etc etc chucked in lane, Jandarma in attendance!!!
Old Sky bar, no change....closed
Mutlu's, probably the best at the moment, settled.
Max's Sand Bar nice and loads of statues around pleasant makeover.  No sign of Max, his brother in charge and Max allegedly in the UK for three months.
Liman, still a flattened site more or less. No change.
Birlik thriving ok.
Mini Sands, roof canopy off now and a good stopping off point.
that will do for now LOL
PS The camel is operating from the Surf Cafe with rides along the beach (short ride)

Tel,

Did you ever find out what was going on at the Aygol, or was it just one of those 'Turkish' happenings?

Does anyone know if the little shop on the corner of mozzie alley and the main road is still open? I ask because when I was there in June they had their electric cut off as evidently the husband had gambled away the money on the horses. Shame if they go under as the wife and kids are OK and work hard to keep the place open.
