I am asking this on behalf of my friends. They have sold their apartment in Fethiye and are intending buying another but not until June. Is it better for them to be paid in Turkish Lira or Sterling? They have a TL and a sterling account here.

Just a small question then :D

Depends if they are into gambling. For a property purchase I wouldn't be. I would ask to be paid in whatever currency they will be using to buy the next property. There's too much going on with money around Europe right now so best to play it safe and ensure the new property gets bought  :)

If I was you, i would hold the money in my TL account till June, pay the ammount when i get the tittle deed, not before it. please do not forget about the 3 months for the military clearance.. make sure the vendor applies before it and gets that clearance when you exchange the money and the Tapu.
