Doesn't seem that whoever is in power in Turkey can ever tolerate opposition, even something as unoffensive as a banner protesting about education, without bringing out the big stick .... and the judiciary seem only too happy to apply the big stick on behalf of the government, of which ever flavour :-X

If the story is true this is appalling. But I have read this story on two forums today and sentencing happened three months ago. Why is it circulating now?

 Probably because the government repressed it untill it suited their purpose Colwyn. Nothing new again then.  :(

The link posted is to an article published in June and many of the comments on it were also posted in June. I don't suggest any great conspiracy here, I am merely curious about the timing.
