heaing aids
« on: April 07, 2008, 21:05:40 PM »
Hello

I am bringing my mother over in April. Does anyone know where I can get her fitted with a hearing aid for a reasonable price. She was quoted over a thousand in the UK as she has only 50% hearing now and is 85 years of age

Thank you

Hi. There is a Acilmedcal centre on the main road out of Fethiye on the one way system. Or there is another place above Nobel shop in Fethiye. It is on the opposite corner to The million shop in Fethiye near the Tuesday market. No Idea on prices sorry. We got ours from Specsavers in Huddersfield. 2 for the price of one! They do have them starting at £475 for 2.

There are some good deals in the UK right now. Of course it depends on the level of hearing loss. Personally - if she's 85 I would go NHS. OK they are behind the ear but at least she will get the right hearing aid and it won't cost a penny.

If she really wants 'in the canals' then it will cost - and with 50% hearing loss she would probably struggle to find suitable ones anyway.

Go NHS - she has earned it!
