Wrong about what Highlander - that replica football shirts and designer clothers are the origional ones and not fake, or that every piece of jewellry sold in tourist areas is genuine. Of course there are honest shopkeepers but personally if I wanted to buy an expensive piece of jewellry I wouldn't buy it in a tourist area. In my experience the British obsession of seeking a bargain comes at a price. Often it means poor value for money.

My final contribution on this....

Twin Bee - can I assume then that if you were contemplating buying an expensive piece of property, you would not do it through a business who had premises in a tourist area ;)

As to Infinity's right of reply, then hopefully they may hear about this through Amanda ;)

No offence intended guys :)

Highlander - I don't think my apartment comes into the 'expensive' catergory but even if it did I would not seek to buy a property that was marketed as a 'bargain' or was offered at a knock down price in a tourist area.
All I know is that people do tell me about buying items abroad and later finding they are fake and these include watches, jewelery, designer clothes and perfumery which they purchased in tourists areas. I am not a saying everyone doing business in a tourist area is dishonest but if people on this forum say that you can ripped off at Dalaman airport I think it is ok to question if you can sometimes get ripped off in Fethiye/Calis too.
What is that maxim used by laywers - "Buyer Beware!"

Twin Bee - your point about buying in a tourist area is a valid one of course. I am sure there are lots of people who have been "conned" over the years and you are right to point out the pitfalls.

It's just that I didn't think that Infinity would fit into this generalisation.
