Going to work turned out to be not so much of a challenge as a bloody nightmare.
Twenty minutes clearing the 6" inches of snow off of and all around the car. Another 5 minutes trying to get the car about the fifty yards onto the main road. Slid and slithered down the steep hill into town and then through the town and eventually onto the main road to Inverness. Not far along that road started to notice that the car wasn't behaving properly, even given the snow on the road. Having travelled much of the journey sidewise, I finally made it to the office to discover that the problem had been a puncture in one of the front tyres. And of course I couldn't get into the office carpark for the heavy snow still lying there. Matters didn't improve when, shortly after I arrived, I learned that the Client whom I was meant to meet, had called off.
The only surprise was that my mate on the electronic road sign had made it to work before my and had been kind enough to put up the message "CAUTION - SNOW FORECAST - DRIVE CAREFULLY":(
