Welcome Jackie. Yes some people find it unbelievable that British people are in Turkey trying to rip people off too. Go careful and take advice from people who did what you want to do and are happy. I'm not much good when it comes to property in Uzumlu (unless you want some land :D ) - I'd recommend you have a word with Cenk though (Interturk Estates, he was telling me he has some very good deals on a couple of developments in Uzumlu, and is widely recommended.

Good luck, you'll find a lot of good people in the area, quite a few of them are members of this forum  :)

Thank you scunner and scot.
i've already come across some lovely people, this is an amazing country with lots of lovely people.
its a shame that the bad ones tend to stand out more. BUT, there are bad people all over the world.
its just a shame that the ones that have tried to rip me off have been british.
never mind, i was warned about them just in time.
there known as the " ugly couple" from uzumlu. lol
uzumlu seems a lovely place, so i'd like to live there for a few months, i prefer to rent a largish villa first i think.
have a lovely day all.
x

Just for info, I bought my apartment through Cenk at Interturk and his wife Olga is my Property Manager. I would also recommend them as they have always been very helpful.
