Are bookings up or down this year in Turkey?
« Reply #10 on: March 14, 2012, 07:30:06 AM »
It works both ways.
When I had a small holiday apt in calis 8 years ago, some friends stayed there, their first visit to Turkey and loved it, others done the same and Calis put them off Turkey.
Myself, and my own fault.....having paid a non refundable deposit on my apt there and never been to Calis before, I awoke in the morning and thought 'what on earth have I done' Ok, Calis grew on me, but after 2 years (thanks to keith) sold up and moved to fethiye. Despite living here most of the year, I only go to Calis maybe 3/4 times year, as i'm not keen on it, but still good to have a choice. Much the same with freinds who I have in Fethiye, Ovacik, Hisaronu and other surrounding areas, not everyone finds Calis thier ideal place otherwise they would all be living there. But, as I point out, we are lucky in this area to have a choice of resorts, villages etc to go to, and I find Fethiye a good base, despite hoping to move to Antalya very soon.
