Income tax on pensions
« on: May 13, 2012, 07:42:56 AM »
Does anyone know how I go about informing the British Government that I want to pay the tax on my pension here in Turkey. What forms I need etc.I know some people who have done this and are pounds in.Would rather the money in my pocket than the British Goverment that do absolutely nothing for me since my move to Turkey.Did everything 'by the book' so dont qualify for any benefits or hospital treatment.Any advice greatly appreciated.

You need to get a DT1 form, you can download from the internet. If you put double taxation into search engine.Fill the form in take in to your local Muhtar to sign and stamp and send it off.You should also get back tax rebated. You will not get it if you worked for a Government Dept, and they are paying the your Pension.Once they have received it should take 8 to 10 weeks to sort out.Good Luck just waiting for my husbands to be processed and heard from a friend yesterday she had got hers and a nice rebate as well.
