Does anyone know the name of this fruit?

It's nothing like a quince and neither do the leaves look anything like quince tree leaves.

Could it be a quince in it's early stages (I'm being serious now   )

but as KKOB correctly points out  (ouch that hurts) the leaves are not like those of the quince and they wouldn't change.

To be honest I thought he said the leaves DO look like quince leaves :/

I'll go with squapple again
