One very important matter to put on the record which I should have done at the outset.  :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[

The idea of recognising Stuart MacDonald's remarkable services to the 3C's was scunners' not mine.     :)

I was merely the messenger.

Yes, I think you should have. If not in your first post, maybe in your second, or third or even fourth post.

Well I have put the record straight now and I do apologise unreservedly to scunner for not making clear at the onset. :( :( :(.

No harm done, I am very grateful to H for arranging the award and delivering it in typical H style.

The idea was mine but it was a CBF idea. The thought was that this guy selflessly gives up days of his holidays - several times a year, year after year -  to do something pretty unique in Turkey which raises BIG money for the kids. I thought it would be difficult for the charity (3Cs) to use raised money to thank/award him in this way, as the money isn't given for that - and Stuart would probably think the same.

So someone else needed to recognise his contribution. That was CBF and our members came up with the goods again.

Highlander took the idea and did the rest - even to the degree that I know CBF members gave generously but I have no idea who :D

Team effort - thanks to all.

A man needing recognition has been recognised     :)

Why do I get the impression that you are implying that my omission was deliberate in each post.

Does it really matter. I am sure that those who subscribed were not bothered about whose idea it originallly was, who canvassed for subscriptions or who subscribed. It was all about a really generous amount of subscriptions and a Thankyou to a remarkable person who helped to advance those subscriptions.

Between us we had an idea and saw it through to its conclusion. That’s rare enough these days  :)

For those who haven't been over recently.

My thanks to liz101 who sent me a copy of the Land of Lights from October which featured this article.

Not at all sure about the headline used but good publicity for 3C's and CBF - not to mention a fitting tribute
to Stuart and Linda.
