Title: Cake
Post by: Scunner on March 07, 2008, 22:12:22 PM
I am looking for a recipe for a cake I used to enjoy, but I can't get one because I don't remember what it is called.

It's a cake that has lots of pineapple, and is upside down.

Anyone know what it is called?

No, it isn't that because I have a recipe for that. In fact, I'm making one on Sunday once I've been to the market to get the onions.

When I went for a stroll round MacArthur Park it was empty.
I now know the reason why.     8)

Don't follow Mr Harris's advice, here are some words from his cake making exploits..

Spring was never waiting for us, girl,
It ran one step ahead as we followed in the dance.
Between the parted pages and were pressed
in love' hot, fevered iron like a striped pair of pants.
MacArthurs park is melting in the dark
All the sweet green icing flowing down
Someone left the cake out in the rain.
I dont think that I can take it
Cause it took so long to bake it
And Ill never have that recipe again!
Oh, no-o-o-o!

Silly sod!

He's joking I reckon, who the hell would use green icing - some vegetarian greenpeace type and let's face it, they live in the rain so wouldn't be bothered by that.

I am quite worried about it all honesty. Fancy going halves on printing some T-shirts raising awareness of idiotic cake preperation. On the back of the shirts we could push your new venture assuredestates.com

I'd save a few quid in not putting that 's' on the end too

Most songs don't bear close examination if the truth be known. I despair (as someone who worked on major bridge engineering contracts) at those who, when discovering that London Bridge was falling down, decided to instigate emergency repairs using wood and clay.

We are all at a loss

Cows don't jump over moons, dishes can't run away with spoons, yet it was a hit in its day.

I remember we had to make a Birds Trifle in cookery lessons in junior school. Imagine my disappointment when my box didn't contain the hundreds and thousands sachet. Furthermore, my friend had 11 in his.

That's probably why he has half a dozen barbers shops and I have sod all lol  ;)

I made chocolate biscuit cake, traditionally based on all the biscuit crumbs you accumulate. Tasty though it was, Mrs Scunner never forgave me, because we didn't have any accumulated biscuit crumbs at that time so I took a rolling pin to a new packet of biscuits.

Women eh, cause a major row over 25p

is this it heather:

2 crushed Weetabix
1 cup of sultanas
2 cups of Self raising flour
1 cup of sugar

Mix these dry ingredients together, then add

1 cup of milk and a teaspoon of mixed spice

Stir again and pour the mix into a greased loaf tin, bake at 325 degrees for about 45 mins.

Its wonderful slightly warm and always with butter/spread.
