You will probably be able to get one done at the Esnaf, give them a ring, if they dont have this service they will be able to tell you where to go.

Sorry Keith, old Civil Servants and their habits never die! Civil Service code creeps in wherever I least expect it!

Esnaf do undertake hearing tests, if you ask at the tourism dept (foreign patient assistance) (desk on entry to the hospital)or ring them on 6126400.  For English speaking assistance ring EXT 182 or 36 they will arrange this for you.
Unfortunately  I do not know what they charge for this service Hope this helps  :)C

An update! We turned up unannounced at the Devlet Hastanesi and were given an appointment to see a doctor in the KBB (ENT) department. He sent Mike for a hearing test, checked the results, sent him back up the corridor for a pressure test and prescribed some decongestant tablets although he warned that he might need hearing aids. He wanted to see him two weeks later, so back he went. He had another hearing test. The decongestants hadn't helped and he was advised he needed hearing aids. Mike went to Ada Isitme Ciharzlari in Carsi Cad on Thursday. (It is above the shop with wheelchairs and various other disability aids outside. They were very good and helpful. He wasn't pressured to buy the most expensive and no deposit was required. He had a call Friday evening to say his hearing aids were in and we popped in yesterday. A lot of time was spent fine tuning on computer although the moulds will not be ready until later in the week. All in all a very good service.
