My Brother is taking his 150cc scooter to the bike shop that usually services it, and they are going to buy it from him, presumably to resale. Is there any paperwork needed when he hands it over (Notary etc). He is worried that they will just give him the money, take the scooter, and if it is still registered in his name, then anyone stopped by the police driving it, it could result in a fine for my brother until it is registered in someone elses name.
Any help gratefully received.

He has to go to the Notary's office with the person who is buying and get it registered in the new owners name. The buyer is the person who pays for this, not your brother.

He'll also need to pay for an authorised translator.

Ooops, yes I forgot to mention that Alan ;)

Also if it is MA,B,C etc, registered the Plate/s have to be given to the notar.

Thanks for the replies above. I think as the shop is paying for it, they don`t want to go to the Notary until they get a buyer and then the new buyer and my brother (presumably still registered as the owner), would go. This would save the shop the Notary cost but leaves my brother unprotected.
