A Cat's Tale

When we were there last October it was very quiet and we went to have a nice cup of coffee at one of the platforms suspended over the gushing water.  A lovely little puss cat came over and started to nuzzle against us and eventually settled on the side above the raging torrent and was watching something.

There was a large pipe running between us and the cliff face (you know what is coming by now) and the cat looked ready to jump onto it and cross over. We watched, and of course realising that it lived there, was obviously very familiar with the area, and of course always landed on its feet we were not concerned.

Cat jumped, landed on very wet smooth slippery pipe for a second before falling in the water. We stared at each other (cat is obviously dead) and rushed to peer over.  Cat surfaces and then sinks before reappearing under the walkway and miraculously getting onto a little ledge with no way off.

Hubby runs up the walkway and manages to get his arm down past the rocks (big grazes) and grabs screaming wet cat which is released with 8 lives intact.  A very exciting and rewarding day which unfortunately I didn't get on camera.

This has got to be on the agenda for May. 8)

He was a hero Tinx I agree, and the cat never even said thanks. I really was very sorry about the camera believe me.

I wish I was good enough to be a man, perhaps I will be rewarded in the next life if I try hard in this one.

Saklikent is an excellent trip - did it last June for just £10 - brilliant - not at all as dull as it sounds. Good fun, fantastic scenery ( well rocks!) and the mud bath mud to slap all over your thighs so you come out looking slim and beautiful (if you have a good imagination!  :)

I have been edited! and I was only referring to her cat in the same way that the TV did ;). Back on topic, it is a very nice place to visit although the rubber tyres down the water were £5 a ride when we went a couple of years ago and now they are about £12 - a bit steep I thought.

And don't pay for a trip, jump on the Dolmus, it goes straight there and costs about £2
