Does anyone know where i can buy a phone card so i can phone UK? Used to buy from shop corner on Çaliş high street but as i remember i tried last year and was told they don't do them anymore, only via the post office. I usually fone my dad using the phone box on the prom as it can be expensive using my mobile, dad likes to talk a lot about politics and the weather ;D

The little store that sells cigs, drinks etc. It is the last shop on the left as you go onto calis beach. He will offer you a 5tl card or a 10tl card, although the card actually says 4tl and 8tl. Hope this helps

Great thanks Mary62 for your quick response :)

Anyone know how long the 10tl card would last ringing UK?
-
4 seconds :D
-
;D that's what I was thinking!
-
Actually when we lived there it was surprising how long you got for a bit of credit - cheaper by far than ringing the UK on a British provider phone.
-
Might just give it a try when we come out in October to ring mum! :D
-
I just phoned home for 5mins and cost 4TL
-
Thanks Rana, sounds ok to me. Will def give it a try :)

It is actually an 8tl card, and we found that we were able to call a landline for about 10-12 mins, but mobi is a heck of a lot dearer.

Thanks mary :D

Did u manage to buy a phone card where the other member said Rana? Im down to my last one and i used to buy from the shop we used to call the twins but knew he did not sell them anymore...much cheaper then usung a mobile to phone home on :)
-
Yes i did Karennina, shop on the left just as you go onto the prom. Although he did warn us it might not work and would have to try all 3 phone boxes. The one on the left of the prom worked finally after trying the other 2, prom box and entrance to Caliş street by the corner shop and taxis.

If he has a smartphone you can call him from a bar with wi fi on Whats App?

That's that we usually do with our daughters mercury. It's my 93 year old mum we need to ring on her landline so will try the phonecards this time. :)
-
If you're referring to my dad Mercury, he's 92 and it isn't going to happen anytime soon. He still can't answer his messages and tries to charge the wrong end. Also he has a phone but it's not smart ;D

Okey dok thanks for the info Rana ;)
