Hi PJB,

Not done it myself, but these are the basics:

UK - Calais - Reims - Metz - Nancy - Strasbourg - Zurich - St Gotthard - Lugano - Milano - Bologna - Ancona - Fethiye.

You don't drive into these places, just follow the motorway signs until you reach them. ie, From Calais follow signs to Reims, as you reach the Reims turn-off you will see a sign for Metz. And so on.

It'll take 1 week, cost £400 + fuel + tolls + insurance.

The journey (and cost) includes two ferries (one is a two night & 3 day trip).

You will be expected to leave Turkey, with your car, within 6 months. You will have paperwork handed to you on one of the ferries which state this.

Tesco car insurance (amongst others) will insure your car for this.

Glen.

or you can do the northern route like I did and save on the ferry costs. Also try to use Belgium and Germany to save on the french tolls which can be expensive. Petrol is dirt cheap in Yugoslavia and Greece.
I did the trip in 3 days. My car still hasnt got over it and that was 4 years ago.

Warning about Bulgaria. A friend drove through it 2 weeks ago and the border police told him that if he sees a copper by the side of the road waving him down but there is no plice car in site then just put your foot on the gas.

And watch out for the speed trap about 1 kilom into Serbia. I got caught and had to hand-over my passport, go back to the border and get Serbian currency from an ATM to pay the fine.
