Some sort of normality must be resuming cos we received a great wadge of post today (first for 3 months) and so did all our neighbours.  Such a shame beautiful Xmas cards and birthday cards that folk have taken the trouble to post.

Makes you wonder why people still use the post service in Turkey.

This is a local (Fethiye) issue as unfortunately my monthly tax demand *always* gets delivered...

Apparently the PTT office is now automatically taking the english post to the reasturant near yakamoz. Most of this post is for the tuzla area but a couple are for ovacik!!! I was down there today and fresh bunch of post was taken there this morning. There is quite alot for a family with the surname mc callaugh or mc callock, and quite alot for a family with the surname sounding like morley or mouwerly. I hope this information is of some help to people. I will only be in turkey till monday but will keep you updated till sunday. When i go to the reasturant on friday i will write down all the surnames of post there and post it on here.

Thanks for the heads up.

if I had a small businessin in any of the Fethiye areas I would try and open up a mail office within my business, not delivering but allowing locals to call in and collect their mail, no money in it directly but that amount of people visiting you most days cannot be a bad thing.
