dont mind the belly dancer nights at all ... at least its `semi` turkeyish  attempt at entertainment. Unlike the beer swigging karaoke brit nights, killing the music whilst trying to impress ther drunken friends ughhhhhhhhhhh
mind you I will pass on the  male belly dancer  ugggggggggghhhh , even the women find it  a bit  ugghhhhhhh

I was informed that the female belly dancer at Kaya Park, when we went 2 years ago, was a Russian girl. She was gorgeous but I was disappointed she wasn't Turkish as there are many who are equally or more gorgeous and since Belly Dancing has it's roots in the 'Middle/Near East' (or so I'm given to understand) it kind of looses something when not the real deal.

Don't let that put you of though because it's still a very entertaining spectacle (when performed by the fair sex!)

As I understood it belly dancing was supposed to be done by women for women. It was good form of exercise for maintaining the reproductive organs in a healthy way before and after childbirth and for the benefit of the man too.  Its been adopted from the Middle East probably Egypt by the Turks and is sometimes viewed as a slutty mode of dance for entertainment purposes only by some people.   Although I have to agree fascinating and mesmerising when done properly.
