if you were moving to Turkey

, how many tv programmes would you really miss? What I mean is, would really be worth your while to have
a great big dish installed on your house?
Although our TV is generally on in the evenings,I cant think of anything I avidly watch every night/week.
I'm generally on here and Pauline is reading her book.
Do you people already there miss anything specific on tv?
apart from Scunner whose house looks like Jodrell Bank

I think it's more a question of you'll miss, 'what you want', 'when you want it' 'when' you can't get it....

Being serious for a short time, we were lucky to have space to fit the dish (it doesn't look like Jodrell Bank you git

) and have a sky box. For a while Digiturk was OK, but by the end of the week we'd seen everything on BBC Prime (some things 2 or 3 times). There were next to no programmes for the kids (apart from cheap rubbish) - but I can't claim we got it for the kids of course

Two things to remember perhaps; 1. We naturally miss 'home' TV, as all expats do - my friends parents in the UK had a satellite dish fitted for Italian TV, and the numbers of Turks doing exactly the same in Britain is very high. 2. Having UK TV saves a fortune, no need to go out to watch footie in bars and buying drinks, and even before that, no need to go out through absolute boredom.

I would certainly miss our TV - especially as we have just recently replaced the black and white one with a colour one

i'd really miss all the soaps,no....really....because while the wife is watching them i get peace.

Also I would imagine it would be difficult for MrsH to find sufficient quantities of 50p pieces to charge the meter you have on your t.v.,if you were to move abroad H?
