Maybe it was Tuborg - I bow to your superior knowledge - whatever it was, it cost 1.5 ytl a pint compared to 4YTL in Hisoronu and Olu.

Kevin - no they flew with Thomson and were on a cheap package deal. The hotel was cheap and cheerful but they would not go back again.

They loved the whole area though and it was interesting to see what they thought of it as it was their first ever visit to Turkey.

What they thought was overpriced - in their mind:

Quad Bikes
Drinks on Carol and Tayfun's boat trip.
Meals and drinks in Olu and Hisaronu

What they thought was good value:

The boat trips (apart from the drinks cost above)- they went on four.
Jeep Safari and trip to Saklikent
Mud Baths

I suppose if they hadn't gone to Calis and seen the cheaper lager they would have thought 4ytl was OK - but once they saw it they thought 'rip off'. Human nature I guess.

Mind you,I've had a few by that time!!   :) :)

I really wish you lot would 'back off' about Hisaronu. I live up Norf and your comments about the place are giving Blackpool a bad name !

She's not too good June, one day at a time, but thanks for asking. It's good to see the Swampies are still vocal. It would seem to indicate there is still SOME form of life in Calis, however primitive!! :D:D

,

kevin3, we have stayed in hisaronu several times, but so far the beach has eluded us, and so we have had to go further afield to calis beach or olu deniz. we have heard so much about the fabulous beach of hisaronu, and are hoping that the cruise ship we will be travelling on next time stops in that area. if it doesn't, can you let me know in which direction to go? really feel we're missing out here by not seeing the best beach in turkey!!!!
