Been listening more to King Hokum and really liking it now. Also got the lunatic Spike Jones stuff through. Remember is very ditantly from my youngest days being allowed, under supervision, to listen to the BBC Light Programme. This was probably played on Uncle Max on a Saturday morning - Spike Jones' version of the William Tell Overture - put your money on Beetlebaum!

"Not like any Australian accent I am used to"

Australiana  was meant to indicate a blend of Australian and Louisiana accents.

I'll try for better next time  ;) ;)

Rollicking good do with Pokey Lafarge and SCT last night. I would have said that Hard Times Come & Go nearly lifted the rafters but, since we were on a boat, I had better say it it almost split the beam. Hope mikeA and UBT have just as good night tonight in Brighton.

Excellent gig and what nice guitar playing, also good to see a real double bass at work and a harp player not afraid to play in the third position. All good.
PS never seen Concord two pact like that before.

Well I understand what a harp is, but perhaps you could help out with the rest of sentence.

It means sucking on the 4 5 6 7 holes on the Harmonica enabling you to play in a minor key
it produces the flattened 3rd and flattened 7th which turns a major scale into a minor scale.:D 8)

Mike tell me about the crowd at Concorde! Especially when the chimps (particularly the tall ones) began to push forward when Pokey and the Chaps kicked off.  I'd had enough after 10 minutes, so I retired to the bar area and watched it through the doors and on the big screen.

Sorry didn't see you, but given the crowd no surprise.

We thought Pokey was excellent, but next time we venture to see him, we'll try a less crowded venue. ;)

Of course, live is always better, but I think Pokey and SCT are really poor at transposing the toe-tapping power and pace of their music into their audio recordings. We were fortunate to find a place in a gallery about eight feet above the stage and had unobstructed view only a few feet from the lads (if we had leant over the railings we could have shaken hands with them!).
