Will they finish second in the SPL?Rangers fans should note that MFC went into administration several years ago and came out a better team.Sad days indeed that football clubs have to go there.Rangers won't be the last I think.

If they finish second it will be totally meaningless if they are less than 10 points ahead of Rangers.

Will it?  As far as I'm aware Motherwell have run a pretty tight ship since admin and haven't lived beyond their means in terms of player salaries and transfer prices paid.  It will not be meaningless if they finish less than 10 points above Rangers, they can enjoy their European run safe in the knowledge that they haven't cheated the taxman and other creditors to get there.

A fair point John. My "totally meaningless" remark was with regard to the footballing side of things.

Well isn't it all part of the same thing? Motherwell could maybe have signed someone like Messi on £500,000 a week and maybe finished way more than 10 points above Rangers - sadly their financial steadiness will reflect how they perform on the "footballing side of things".

Ragers have kept somewhere around £12m from the tax man in the last 9 months.
If Mwell had £12m to spend on players and salaries then maybe that 10 points gap would not have been quite so easy to achieve.

The Ragers have been spending taxpayers' money for more than a decade.
