Up and running for a month now
« on: July 02, 2012, 19:49:29 PM »
I think the new style forum has been running for a month now.  Now it feels like an old friend to me. I particularly like:

The clean modern lines
The speed
The ability to click on 'new' and just read the most recent posts or posts since last visit, posts in last 1hr, 8 hrs or 24hrs and of course view the most recent posts.
The ease of navigation.

Well done to all the team.

Agree with you Marggie
Must admit I was unsure at first but I now find it much more user friendly

Well done all

It was never going to be easy because we were all snug and comfy at the old CBF and actually it was me that held out the longest - the technical reasons for moving far outweighed the "old pair of slippers" reason to stay as it was but I was always aware that many members are Calis lovers rather than forum/internet experts - and it's hard to ask people to learn a new way of accessing CBF when they've maybe just got to grips with the original CBF.

But slowly/surely it is paying off - people can now easily post photos, things are brighter, crisper and easier - once you know that everything is here, just sometimes under a different name (active topics = unread posts etc). I'm very pleased that members are starting to feel right at home with the new CBF, because the old one was dying a slow death :D

Looking at the stats it is encouraging to see the high level of forum use.

Though Keith and I obviously need to get a life

Hey just because I'm showing as online doesn't mean I'm actually active on CBF! Sometimes I go to the toilet!!
