Thanks again. loved it last year but got put off by going by dolmus as we were dragged round place to place,in the end our group had to be quite firm with the driver to take us to the gorge.

If you catch the normal Saklikent Dolmus it runs a regular route which starts in Fethiye and ends at the gorge, it obviously stops whenever people want to get off as normal. We never had a problem, one nice touch was when the driver saw the "missus" struggling to get a photo of the impressive valley as you rise up the road on the return journey, he stopped the bus and reversed about 100 m back to a vantage point and waited a few moments to take some snaps !, priceless.    :)

Whilst some of the dolmuses to Saklikent do pick up near the mosque, their main pick up point is the dolmus station behind the Opet garage, the one vitually opposite the entrance to Tuesday market

We are planning to travel to Saklikent gorge from Fethiye (by dolmus) in late August.

After visiting the gorge we wish to travel by dolmus to Kalkan. returning from

Kalkan to Fethiye a couple of days later.

Is this feasible – does anyone know the timetables and fares please ?

          Thanks

I've just looked at the map of the area & there is only a very narrow road connecting Saklikent with Kalkan. It may be possible, but frankly, it may be a darn sight easier & quicker to come back to Fethiye & take a bus from the otogar to Kalkan

Thanks Liz - I think we will do an independent trip to Saklikent from Fethiye in our second week and 2 days in Kalkan mid first week  :)

Went today by dolmus cost 8.50 from fethiye to Saklikent and took over an hour.
More water in the gorge this year so more difficult to walk up, but worth the effort!
