Take your cash into any of the shops and restaurants in Calis and they'll exchange it for you. They'll exchange it for Efes, crisps , ciggies, suntan lotion, a meal, almost anything you want really.

There is an official change office in the Main Street, however, just up from this is Zumrut Jewellers.  Sedat will always give you a better exchange rate than the change office.  A lot of people on this Forum use Sedat and have done for a long time.
Shop is open every day until around 11.30 pm in the evenings.

O.K. the downside is he has lovely irresistible jewellery.  We go in the evening Phil gets a beer and I get a chilled white wine and always seem to come away with some piece of jewellery I cannot live without.

The shops like Zumrut are good because they are very safe and there's no monkey business, as many members can testify. The official change shop too. Just be careful regarding two things - ignore people who approach you offering to change money, and be sensible and accept no assistance at ATMs.

Do both of those and you should be fine

The calis change office was offering 3 lira to the pound this evening...!!!

Getting 2.97 in Aberdeen just now.  i have changed about half of what we need for our hols at that rate and will change the rest when i arrive. ii usually use the official change shop in Calis but have been advised to use eddie the jeweler on the main drag ? for a good deal.

General tip for using cash machines - always make sure you are with someone. Most, if not all of those conned/robbed have been alone.

Change wise. All those mentioned above are fine. There is also a guy half way up the prom who sells trips. Rate isn't the best but it might save a longer walk if you are in urgent need of some lira and aren't worried about losing a few pence on your transaction.
