The  TANK  was his nickname... I  remember being  a close witness ( I was  watching the match  at White Hart Lane from only a few yards away ) to his famous  spat  ( and equally famous photograph )  with wee Billy Bremner   :-)

Players like `the Tank`   are not around anymore.... great player from a great team in the mid  60`s

One of the true greats of both the Scottish and English game, and this is from an Arsenal supporter!  He was a rare commodity in his pomp, but they certainly don't appear to make them like that any more. Skilful, committed, hard as nails and a natural leader of men.

He lived in the same road as me in the 70's and his son was a good friend. Sad to hear this but what a great life he had!
