I have been there three times now for the fish and chips on Friday nights and it as been excellent  best fish and chips I have had in Turkey don't know about any other food as I have only had the fish and chips  and I will be going again next time I'm out

They do other food, but the speciality of the house is deffo Fish n Chips.  Good thick fish in lovely batter with hand cut chips.  And certainly on the Friday 'Special' the Fish 'n Chips is served with tartare sauce and yorkshire caviar (mushy peas).  Well worth a run up to Uzumlu to enjoy.

Let me explain on the hand cut chips, for my gastronomically challenged friend  ;).  It is not a marketing ploy but an indication of freshness.  Most chips in the world today are par boiled pulped potatoes shaped into a chip/french fry/wizzle whatever to a set size, and then frozen- which by the way reduces the efficacy of the frying oil and over time makes the taste of chips that much poorer.  So if the chip has been hand cut it is a very strong indication of freshness straight from the natural ingredient...simples :-*

Yeah... A nicely constructed and articulated critique on "hand cut" chips.

Try getting them in UK eating establishments. As rare as hens teeth!

I am not sure what it is, but it is the nearest to Cod or Haddock - without being either - I have had in Turkey.  Very thick fillets and very tasty, complimented by a lovely batter.

I remember having fish and chips in Bostan's and it was very nice, but the fish did taste different from the haddock we get in Scotland.   I really don't like cod as I find it too strong a taste, but I love haddock.
When I read this piece it set me wondering what fish the use over there.

The fish that most restaurants use to get a similar taste and texture to cod and haddock is mezgit.
