Chariot still swinging.......

Made it....just.

Not pretty but a workmanlike job.

Lots more to come, I hope. Big improvements to be made but Italy should allow a chance to develop as a team.

Tomorrow's game will, I hope, be a joy to watch. Should be exciting with two of the best teams in the world playing.

France sneaked a win over Italy. Italy were possibly the better team; they were certainly the more entertaining. I suppose England deserved their win in Scotland with considerable help from their rolling maul. It is not an aspect of the game I enjoy and I think the laws on it need looking at. I'd also like to see scrums where hookers hook the ball - but I suppose that is hopelessly old-fashioned of me. Both games featured a ridiculous number of knock-ons and far too many penalties which decided the outcomes. Not much flowing rugby on display; Italy were probably the best on this.

Haven't seen a straight put in for years.

Always slanted to the scrum half's team.

That's where I would start.

Oh no! She's gone over to the other side!

Unfortunately StuartT will be unable to join us today. He is exhausted from his evening class for his new course in Advanced Debating. Yesterday evening was tutored by experts in talking gibberish, missing the point and getting on the wrong side of the Chair. Today he has homework to do; but not on this thread ... please.

Forget that thin gruel we were served up yesterday; today is proper rugby. Who the hell is going to win this one?
