One of the “most” memorable was the celebration of Brenda’s big “
?0” birthday.
Being a landmark birthday we had arranged to celebrate with friends in Scarlett Bar – where else.
Unfortunately, in the afternoon a big storm hit the area and by late afternoon there wasn’t a light to be seen anywhere in the bay.
Fearing the worst (and panicking as I am prone to do) I dashed downd to Scarlett to tell the guys that we would have to cancel.
Oh ye of little faith. The late Tom (sorry don’t think I ever knew his really name - he's the gentleman trying to get away in photo 3) who was organising matters was horrified. With typical Turkish mentality he simply could not see what the problem was e.g if there was no light they would simply line up cars in the car park and leave their lights on. He politely told me not to worry and that everything would be fine.
Of course he was right and just after I got back to Letoon the lights came back on and the celebration went ahead and was a huge success.
Only problem was when we left and Murat shouted to Brenda “ Hope you enjoy your party back home” Only thing was that was a total secret.
Hard to believe it was in 2002.
