I love the Turkish people, and admire the fact that some of them pray five times a day when our churches are nearly empty.
However, being woken up before dawn every morning for four weeks would be, in my opinion, just cause for a bit of a moan.  I’m not a good sleeper at the best of times, and fear I may not be able to get back to sleep.
Don’t want to stop them doing it, it’s their way of life and I respect their religious beliefs, but may have to change hotels.

Just a quick thought, isn't the call to prayer normally conveyed by the speakers on the lamp posts around the area? It certainly seems to be where we are.

If that is the case the volume should be fairly constant tough I admit it may be slightly louder if you are near one. Therefore it doesn't matter where the mosque is, as it will depend on the location of the speakers.

One last thought how many of the complainers on here moan about church bells in the UK?

The early morning call to prayer is one of the most evocative and biggest reminders of our love for Turkey.13-14 years ago was the first time I heard it one Summer morning,I got up and sat on our terrace,at peace with the world, sun rising, air warm, birds singing etc.I don’t think I had been so happy for a long time.
Very happy memories

I don't know Wendy but I'm pretty sure she is just asking for an answer to her question and you guys have hounded her in your replies as an insensitive brit who expects the world to adapt to her personal needs.
look at the facts.

1. she already has a home in Turkey so she is well aware of the culture.
2. The mosque wasn't there when she brought her property.
3. She not entirely sure where it is located, hence the question.
4. She asked how loud it is in location to her home.
5. she said she hopes to get a good night sleep when she gets to turkey which suggests she's may need some R and R and is worried she wont get it.

If someone was to ask the same question about how re routing the canal may effect their home flooding or a how a new hotel might be effecting their view would you all of been so critical?

Personally I love to here the call to prayer, but then I'm not right on top of a speaker.
And yes in the UK we don't complain about hearing church bells ...but then they don't ring at 5am!

Maybe someone can help Wendy if you haven't all frightened her off.

We have an apartment next door to navarda Spa and the speaker is on the lamp post
Right outside after day one you get used to the early morning call, you may not hear it near

I think you'll find the question was answered in the first couple of replies 😁
