Title: Missing Person - Have you seen this man?
Post by: usedbustickets on March 23, 2014, 11:22:16 AM
Have you seen Des Martinson?  He went missing yesterday shortly after the Arsenal team went missing in the game against Chelski (who apparently only buy titles, as opposed to Arsenal who have stopped winning them)   ;).  He was last seen in a couple of posts where he was trying to justify keeping on the stale Arsenal manager in order to ensure we continue to ship 17 goals in three games.

If you see this man, or he makes an appearance on CBF, please be sure to contact WengerWatch and ask for Inspector Tickets.

Warning this man is a convicted AKB (Arsene Knows Best) so please do not approach unless you know who is good enough to replace Wenger.

Thank you for your co-operation

Hoi Boxerdog I've told you before I never eat Chelski Buns only Arsenal Buns.  And for the record I deffo do not eat Tottenham Cake, and reports of me purchasing said cakes at Greggs on the Kilburn High Road are not to be believed.  ;)

BTW if you are baking any of those Arsenal Buns, please can you bring along a few samples for Mrs Tickets and myself tomorrow evening.  THank you.

Jealousy, (especially of the achievements of one football team , by supporters of other teams), is a very, very strange bed-fellow indeed. Now, behave !! ;-)

I call your attention to the score nine days ago 0-3.   However I am a Liverpool fan born and brought up in Liverpool.   As a dedicated M.U. fan I assume you are from Manchester?  could I be wrong?  are you perhaps Scottish?  If so,  I should tell you there are Scottish teams you could be supporting.   ;D :P

Always have, and always will, support Manchester United. I'm NOT one of those "fair weather & good results" supporters.  To paraphrase the immortal words of General McArthur, We shall return !!

Brilliant quote I read elsewhere this evening:

The ref did Utd no favours tonight ! That was a great opportunity to send Fellaini off and he only gave him a yellow, Utd should appeal and get him suspended!!! :-)

Sadly so true AND he should have gone for that elbow!

I know a lot of older Irish people support M.U. because of George Best.  The same way a lot of Scots support M.U. because of Alex Ferguson.   I have spoken to Aberdeen people who say they started to support M.U.  when Fergie left Aberdeen to go to M.U.  So for older Scots there is this reason they support an English Team so far from Scotland.  However, it always baffles me now, as to why someone who does not come for a place or have any connection with it, supports the football team from that place.  Unless, of course, they are glory hunters.  I remember when M.C. got all the money from the new owner and started to be successful, I was in the supermarket in Peterhead and saw a local guy wearing an M.C. shirt, then over a few weeks more of these shirt wearers appeared in the town.  I had never seen this before in the 30 years I had lived here. :o   ;)
I always think this Scottish support and "love" for an English team never equates to the way a lot of Scots say they would rather see any team win the World Cup than England.  ;)

Well said Gordon, every true supporter would have this attitude, regardless. I can't say I wish Man U the best obviously, but I respect your support and views.

Jacquie the reason I support Man. Utd from a very early age, I come from a small town Chesterfield who were div 4 or 3 so everyone also supported a Div. 1 side as well. I followed Chesterfield all over the country and only go to watch Man. utd. when in England because my sons company have a private box.

Where a person hails from should have absolutely NO reflection upon which football team that person supports/follows. I LOVE Parma Ham, but have NEVER been to Italy !! As for the last sentence of the above quote, when all is said and done, I am BRITISH, proud to be so, and I shall ALWAYS give my support to an English team when they are playing a "foreign" team, ALWAYS !!
Jacqui, please do not let your own bigotry blind you, I have never met you, but I am sure that you are a better, nicer person than this seems to portray you as being.

Herr Tickets, apologies for going off topic !!

Nothing bigoted about what I said, it's all true.  As an English woman living in Scotland (probably for longer than you did) and having an Irish husband and two Scottish children.  I think I know what is right.

Really, not bigoted ?? You take every opportunity to slag off what is probably the most successful British football team ever, and you are not a bigot ??

By the way, born May 30th, 1948, left Scotland May 4th, 1988 !! How does that grip you ??

Going to where the topic has drifted to, I thought this little joke would be Topical (geddit?). Apologies for the cod accent, and if I kiss off any of my tartan friends I make nae apology : :)

Alex Salmond was visiting a Scottish primary school and the class was in the middle of a discussion related to words and their meanings. The teacher asked Mr. Salmond if he would like to lead the discussion on the word 'Tragedy'.  So the illustrious SNP leader asked the class for an example of a 'Tragedy'.

A little boy stood up and offered, "If ma best freen, wha’ lives on a ferm, is playin' in the field and a tractor rins ower him and kills him, that wid be a tragedy."

"Incorrect", said Alex, in his best trying-not-to-sound-too-patronising-Scottish-accent, "That would be an accident."

A little girl raised her hand, "If a school bus kerryin' fifty children drove ow’r a cliff, killing a'body inside, that wid be a tragedy"

'I'm afraid not', explained Alex, "that's what we would refer to as a great loss’’.

The room went silent. No other children volunteered. Alex searched the room.

"Isn't there someone here who can give me an example of a tragedy?"

Finally, at the back of the room, a wee lad, let's call him H, raised his hand and, in a quiet voice, said: "If a plane kerryin' you and your deputy ' wiz struck by a 'freendly fire' missile & blawn tae smithereens, that wid be a tragedy."

"Fantastic!" exclaimed Alex, "and can you tell me why that would be a tragedy?"

"Weel", says the lad, "it has tae be a tragedy, because it certainly widnae be a great loss, and it probably widnae be an accident either!"

Point One, Liverpool are still the most successful British Football team.
Point Two,  Does not grip me at all.  I have been in Scotland longer than you and am going nowhere.

Geeeeeeez!!! f'ing Football, I ABSOLUTELEY ABHOR FOOTBALL.  How can this activity not sport because no way is this a sport, cause so many nasty evil feelings?  nothing but over paid Prima Donna's who give nothing to society, men who should turn to acting if the injuries on the pitch are to go by, oh I forget, that football thug Vinnie something used his natural abilities to further a new careerer.

Now Jacqui and Gordon get a grip! if anyone needs a slap it is you two!!!!   or better still Admin Ban the pair of them for the sake of sanity. F'ing fed up!!!!!

Loz, it's because you don't like football you don't understand... Fans always argue its natural and nothing wrong with it.  We all think our team is best and as a woman who was brought up in a City with the two Best Football teams Liverpool and Liverpool Reserves I was rasied with football.
This Football section would be pretty dull if we did not argue.
Anyway, as a last note this is especially for your husband.
