With the football season well and truly upon us I was sitting in the bath today listening the Blues V Chelsea match my mind wandered back to my first ever football match.
As I remember it I must have been about 7 or 8 (78-79 season I think) and I remember was it being a night match and I was excited, scared and cold. I seem to recollect the opposing team playing in white with a diagonal red or blue stripe on their tops so I'm thinking it was Crystal Palace. I remember my dad carrying me fast asleep to the car a yellow ford escort (ADA 217M) and for some reason I think the score was 2-2.
