Karatas Beach
« on: July 26, 2018, 11:58:15 AM »
Some friends went into the belediye offices on Tuesday to complain about the state of this beach. They spoke to the local head of the Forestry, who took them very seriously. Last night they had a call to go to the beach this am. They were amazed to see 2 x dolmuses drop off around 30 (mainly) women, who've spent about 3 hours filling refuse sack with rubbish, which filled 2 pick up trucks.

They've also had an assurance that this beach will be part of the routine every Thursday am

Well done to the belediye for this

For those that don't know this beach, it's behind the hill beyond Telmessos & is a lovely little cove, though there are no facilities.

Thats excellent news. Have often noted how the litter accumulates there at the weekends.

I wonder if the new 5* hotel will have any effect on this beach?

Hi Liz
when you say there are no facilities there, does that mean the bar and restaurant on the beach is no longer open ??

The bar/restaurant is actually on the next beach on the other side of the headland - but its only 150m away!

We go there for breakfast  once or twice a week when we are over.
