Well, will Murray win his first Grand Slam. I'd love it if he did, but I fear not.

I dont think he'll make that final leap at this grand slam but I think it's going to happen pretty soon.

I'd be happy to eat my words however if he does do it at the Aussie Open.

I could talk tennis all day :D

He's going well so far. Hasn't had any strong opposition yet, but he can only beat the player in front of him.

Needs to play better though if he's going to go all the way.

Here's hoping :)

He won't be going all the way on this occasion, he got beaten by 14th seed Fernando Verdasco 2-6 6-1 1-6 6-3 6-4 in three hours and 12 minutes.

Anybody seen the progress of Jelena Dokic? Ranked 187 in the world and she's now in the quarter finals!

Only saw the last set JB. Some observations....

The heat may have been a factor but the same for both players (even if one is Spanish).

He wasn't tested in his first three matches and I think that this may have counted against him.

He was 2 sets to 1 up and should have been able to put his opponent away from that position. Needs a killer instinct.

On evidence of last set, best player won.

Murray has to release that he is now in a position where people are going to raise their game against him and he has to be able to respond accordingly. Federer came back from 2 sets done.

Sad really.

He'll learn from this and bounce back i'm sure.

The Final:

Epic, brutal, breathtaking, awesome. Two things spring to mind....

Andy Murray would have been blasted off the court by either with that standard of play.

Poor old Stevie Gerrard was taken off recently because he was tired. How would he have compared against eithe of these two athltes
