Advice please..
« on: June 20, 2018, 11:02:15 AM »
My peugeot 208,15 reg,2door, broke down 3 times in 8 weeks. I've given them it back.
They are offering a 208 active,1.2,5 door 13 reg with 56k on clock..air con,etc.
Or
15reg 108, 1.0, 4 seater 2 door with 24k miles, air con etc.
I'm thinking the 108 might be too slow n small and the 13 reg too old.
Any advice?

Do you know why your old car broke down, surely it's better to have it repaired

Any advice?

Don't buy a dug.   :)

PS: Test drive the 108 and see what you think.  Check out the relevant values on somewhere like Parker's Guides and see how it'd affect you financially with both alternatives.

Both cars are over what I paid, but they will cover the cost. They have had my car back 3 times to fix it, it cuts out..on motorways or whenever it feels like it. I'm using up my 9 lives far too quickly and I no longer have any faith in the car.
I'll test drive the 108 and see how small n slow it is..
108 is tax free. Both are good on petrol, apparently the 108 is same size as a ka inside.Slow up hills.
Older, more mileage, but bigger and faster to get up the gears..Really not sure.

I'd go for the 208 rather than the 108. ( I drive both regularly as part of my job. ) Get them to service and MOT whichever car you decide on. If you go for the 208, ask them to change the cambelt.

Definitely, and make sure the put in a new vacuum filter and change the oil in the nurdle exchanger.

Most cars average 10k miles a year, so it's not bad.

Sometimes driving a car in a too high gear causes the car to labour which causes high emissions and the computer to close it down - might be the problem with original car did garage check it ?
