Opening of the new bridge
« on: January 29, 2013, 13:33:12 PM »
The official opening of the new bridge by the Mayor ( we have been using it for 6 months) lots of men in suits and speeches then they cut a ribbon and all walked across, I love the Turkish way of doing things like this.

Well they had to have you road test it first Mark before going to the expense of an opening ceremony!   :)

Great photos Mark.  Do you know whether the piece of ground shown in your last picture has been landscaped at long last? :-\

It has been levelled off in a fashion and a few saplings planted, I suspect that will be all they do just wait for grass to grow.

I particularly like the hanging picture of the old upside down bridge, which states 1973 - 2012.
I remember the 1973, as Sunderland won the cup then !!

The bomadiers (fireman) were there this morning taking down the flags.  Never ceases to amaze me as the fireman standing on a metal ladder just below the power cables hooks the flags, bunting or whatever on or off the power pole without a consideration of the risks.  'elf and safty NOT gone mad!!
