Did anyone see it tonight. What a fantastic performance by John Higgins. At one stage he was 9-5 down against Mark Williams. When I started watching it Williams was leading 9-7 and was on match ball in the 17th frame. He missed it and Higgins went on to get the required snooker and win the frame. In cut and thrust frames he went on to win the match 10-9. A brilliant show of determination and guts, not to mention, superb skill  8)

I saw a match from an earlier round, at a stage where two games are being played at the same time. Two 'new' top ranking players played each other on national live TV, although only around 12 people were there to see it in person. Even now, having watched it, I couldn't tell you the name of either player. I wondered what other event that attracts 12 people and rows and rows of empty seats warrants live national TV coverage. A little later the match from the other side of the partition was shown - a painful match to watch, where the player who made one less mistake than the other guy would fail to lose and go through - this was Jimmy White against Stephen Hendry, and not a spare seat to be seen.

Thanks for the objective comments re John Higgin's victory. A bit dissappointing from people who consider themselves to be Scotch ;)
