Title: yapikredi online banking

Hi All.
Went to yapikredi to sort out my online banking and apparently I need to get a kimlik number before they will do it. .???
Any advice. .I'm not a resident??

You sure they didn't ask for a Tax Number ?

If you're not a Resident you won't have a Kimlik Number.

That's what I thought. .maybe they assumed I was a resident? ?..

Yeah, they have a Yabancı Kimlik Numarasi. 

You sure they wont accept a tax number (Vergi Numerasi) instead?

Yep. You can get it online using your RP.

Unless things have changed, you SHOULD only need your passport, & Turkish tax number, some banks will ask for proof of address, a utility bill etc to open an account. Then for internet banking you need to set it up in branch and register a mobile phone number, so they can send you the SMS text with an access code to long onto your account. Try another bank.

Thanks that helps...hopefully they will accept my english mobile otherwise i will have to borrow a number from a friend.

I think they will accept an English number. You DO need access to the phone your've registered with the bank everytime you log onto your account. They send a "one time use" PIN number for the final stage of the log on.
